The Extranet Collaboration Manger provides extranet services to SharePoint sites through a combination of web scoped features and SharePoint settings and ExCM settings.

A site using ExCM services can be configured as a permission parent when using a unique set of permissions or by inheriting permissions from another site. If a site is a permission parent it uses the features and settings configured for the site. If the site inherits permission from another site it will used the features and settings configuration at the permission parent. This information can be visualized from the Delegation Tree page. |
Setup a site with ExCM
Before a site can be setup with ExCM you need to ensure the required site collection features have been activated. Read the Setup a site collection with ExCM configuration article to learn how.
- In a web browser, navigate to the site as a Site Collection Administrator
- In the Site Actions menu, click Site Settings
- From the Site Settings page, click Site features
- On the Site Features page, find the Delegation Web Components feature and click Activate
- In the Site Actions menu, click Delegation Settings -> Modify All Delegation Settings
- From the Site Settings page, click Delegation Settings
- Configure your Delegation Settings, click OK
- From the Site Settings page, click Registration Settings
- Configure your Registration Settings, click OK

Enable Anonymous Access
Anonymous access may be required using the invitation, registration or reset password feature of ExCM. These pages are access before a user authenticates to your site. Therefor you need to enable anonymous access to allow users to access these pages before authentication. Read Microsoft's Enable anonymous access article for more information.
- In a web browser, navigate to the site as a Site Collection Administrator
- In the Site Actions menu, click Site Settings
- From the Site Settings page, click Advanced Permissions
- On the Permissions page, on the Settings menu, click Anonymous access
- On the Change Anonymous Access Settings page, select Lists and Libraries, click OK

Anonymous access can only be set from a site which allows anonymous access. Typically this is your Forms-Based-Authentication zone |
