The following features and symptom resolutions are included in this release.
- Feature : Apply Site Template Activity
Activity used to apply a web template to a site which does not already have a template applied. Use this feature in conjunction with the Install User Solution Activity and Activate Solution Site Collection Features Activity to create a site collection using a custom web template.
- Feature : Install User Solution Activity
Activity used to add a user solution (sandbox solution) to the solution gallery and activate the solution. Use this feature in conjunction with the Activate Solution Site Collection Features Activity and Apply Site Template Activity to create a site collection using a custom web template.
- Feature : Activate Solution Site Collection Features Activity
Activity used to activate the site collection features provide by a solution. Use this feature in conjunction with the Install User Solution Activity and Apply Site Template Activity to create a site collection using a custom web template.
- Feature : Advanced Set Execution Property Activity
Activity used to set an execution property using advanced dynamic velocity syntax (like the #if statements). Leading and training white space can be removed from the result before it is converted to a data type of the user choice.
- Feature : Set Site Access Request Activity
Activity used to set the access request settings for a site.
- Feature : Multi-line Text Input Field
Input field used to collect multi-line input data from the user during a request.
- Feature : Site Picker Input Field
Input field used to select a single site in an existing site collection.
- Feature : Hidden Input Field
Input field used to capture query string, form or server variables passed to the New Request page.
- Feature : Administrative request accepted, faulted and succeeded e-mail messages
New e-mail messages which can be used to notify administrators of requests which have been accepted, faulted or succeeded.
- Feature : Reset execution status
Reset the execution status of a request from the Execution Details page when the request status is stuck in an ‘Executing’ state for more than 10 minutes.
- Feature : Activity Text Input Multi-line and HTML Support
Activity text input properties support multi-line, spaces and HTML text to help make the code more readable.
- Feature : New Request Dialog Support
The NewRequest.aspx page can be opened in a dialog window. If a finish URL is defined the finishing page will also be opened in the same dialog window.
- Feature : Cross Web Application Authentication Type Support
SharePoint user account names are translated to claims or classic mode format automatically from the Add Group Membership, Create Owners Group, Create Members Group, Create Visitors Group, Grant List Permissions, Grant Site Permissions and Ensure Site Sponsor activities.
- Feature : Ensure Site Sponsor ExCM 2010 Activity
New ExCM 2010 activities like Ensure Site Sponsor, Does Site Sponsor Exist, Does Extranet Role Exist, Does Extranet User Exist.
- Feature : People Input Field Targets Alternate Web Application
Have the people input field target an alternate web application. Useful when selecting users from a web application using an alternate authentication mode.
- Symptom : Policy input field JavaScript error
The policy field was causing a JavaScript error which could prevent other items on the New Request page from appearing correctly. Most notably the meta data fields.
- Symptom : Add-SpgaProvisioningProvider ID Assignment The Add-SpgaProvisioningProvider SharePoint Management Shell command assigns a new ID to the provisioning provider configuration object.
June 2011 Update (2.0.1809.2)
The following features and symptom resolutions are included in this release.
- Symptom: Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service Instance Targets
The Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service Instances are installed to each SharePoint Server with a Web-Front-End or Single Server server role or any server with an on-line Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application or Central Administration service instance.
June 2011 Update (2.0.1806.1)
The following features and symptom resolutions are included in this release.
- Symptom: Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service Installation Targets
The Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service is now only installed and started on SharePoint WFE server and Application Server running the Central Administration. The Provisioning Timer Job will only run on server where the Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service is running.
- Symptom: Memory Usage Improvements
Improved memory consumption for pages and processes using the dynamic velocity replacement syntax.
- Feature: New Activities
Added the Add Top Menu Link, Add Top Menu Link At Location, Break Site Permission Inheritance, Set Anonymous Access, Apply Site Collection Quota, Does Site Exist, Does Site Collection Exist and Apply Master Page activities.
- Feature: Pluggable Activity Framework
Custom .NET activities can be used inside Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant.
- Feature: Extranet Collaboration Manager 2010 Activities
Perform ExCM 2010 operations with activities inside Spga to Activate the Extranet feature, Set Registration and Invitation Settings, Add Registration Fields, Add Domain Name Policies, Add Security Policies, Invite Users, Add Extranet Users and Roles and Add Role Membership.
March 2011 Update (2.0.1528.1)
The following features and symptom resolutions are included in this release.
- Symptom: Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service not running on SharePoint Application Servers
The Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Service hangs in a 'starting' or 'stopping' state on SharePoint Application Servers. This issue is a result of resources not being deployed to SharePoint Application Servers by the SPSolutions.Spga.2010.wsp package. To correct this issue many of the SharePoint resources deployed by this package have been moved to the SPSolutions.Spga.Administration.2010.wsp package. This update will result in a breaking change to existing Provisioning Management sites.
- Feature: Activity Input Function Picker
Easily identify and select Spga functions to be used when creating dynamic activity input content.
- Feature: Request Profile Mail Settings
Apply custom notification settings to the Request Accepted, Request Succeeded and Request Faulted for each Request Profile. Each mail message may also contain a unique CC and BCC e-mail address.
- Feature: Request Page Script
Each Request Profile can contain a custom browser script to be executed on each new request page. This feature is useful to alter the behavior of the request form.
- Feature: Condition Validation Activity
Validate the state of the activity plan and provide and error message to the user if an invalid state is encountered. This activity can be used in conjunction with request validation to stop the a new request from being submitted if it contains an invalid state.
January 2010 Update (2.0.1318.1)
The following features and symptom resolutions are included in this release.
- Symptom: Instance of Provisioning Service being created on 'Invalid' SharePoint Servers
The Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Services farm feature and the New-SpgaService PowerShell command attempt to create an instance of the Provisioning Service on SharePoint servers not registered with a valid role (Stand-Alone, Web-Front-End, Application).
- Symptom: Instance of Provisioning Service error when being provisioned to Farm servers
The Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant Services farm feature and the New-SpgaService PowerShell command encounter the error 'This service instance 'Site Provisioning and Governance ASsistant Service' cannot be provisioned on server [Current Server] because it is mapped to server [Target Server]' when provisioning an instance of the Provisioning Service on SharePoint servers other than the current server.

Provides input fields during a new request. Fields include text, description, choice, policy and list, site and site collection cascading options.
- Feature: Request Profile Request Settings
Provides the ability to customize the request list item attributes of a new request. Options include list item title format, request navigation, promoted fields and workflow initialization.
- Feature: Request Profile Activity Plan
Defines a set of activities to execute during the provisioning process.
- Feature: Global Properties
Provides the ability to configured global properties used all activity plans in a Provisioning Management site.
- Feature: Request Profile Templates
Save request profiles as templates to speed up configuration of common activity configurations.
- Feature: Request Processing
Provides activity plan processing and provisions SharePoint 2010 resources.

Stores requests so they may be reviewed, approved and saved.
